Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

RASCALITY needed her comeback run after a lengthy 37 week absence and she will be fitter today. She wasn't disgraced when beaten just under two lengths that day and she showed good potential, prior to the break. The daughter of Kahal has a wide draw to overcome but is above today's ordinary rivals and she will take some beating. Gavin Lerena retains the ride.

Race 4: ODD ROB(13)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

ODD ROB seems to be over his issues and he produced two very smart comeback runs after his lengthy 46 week absence. He should continue to improve and this drop in distance will be no issue for the Geoff Woodruff inmate. The son of Mambo In Seattle should go close with Delpech in the irons.

Race 7: SHEA DEVON(5)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

There are some smart sorts on display in the day's topliner and a thrilling finish is expected. The three-year old SHEA DEVON had a workmanlike maiden victory over a mile on this course at his second attempt but he produced the run of his short career when winning a graduation event over nine furlongs three weeks ago. The Woodruff inmate took on considerably stronger on the tight inside track and he showed an excellent turn of foot to beat some very useful types, going away. This longer run-in will suit him perfectly and he has lots of scope for improvement. He is one to be with during the season.

Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

LOCO POR GANAR has been excellent since joining the Woodruff team and he was rewarded for consistency with a smart last victory over 1450m on the inside track at Turffontein. The Equal Stripes gelding had a slow start and was way out of his ground turning for home, but he produced a powerful finish to win going away. He may have escaped with just a four pound penalty and will be more effective on this longer run-in. The four-year old gelding went close over this c & d in his penultimate start and he should go well here.

Race 6: KINGS V(10) (Each Way)
Jockey: Collen STOREY - Trainer: Wallace TOLMAY

KINGS V is at her level-best over this c & d and her record proves that. She has caught the eye with two solid comeback performances over this c & d in her last two outings and she will be cherry-ripe today. The daughter of King Of Kings is well handicapped with the three-year olds and she should give a very good account of herself.
