Race 2: AL-AMADI(2)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 4: LIELUMS(2) - TOP BET
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Renate DU PLESSIS

LIELUMS is best in on official ratings and she is overdue her next career win. She had two promising comeback runs after a lengthy absence and will now be cherry-ripe on her third run back from the break. The daughter of National Emblem meets the three-year old AMARILLO STARLIGHT on 1kg better terms for a 2.25 length defeat on the polytrack last time but she will be an entirely different proposition on the grass.

Jockey: Karl ZECHNER - Trainer: Dorrie SHAM

STRAW MARKET has found some form since arriving in PE and he produced his best local run over this c & d. In fact, he challenged the short-priced favourite RED BARREL strongly before going down a neck to that rival on that occasion. The pair meet on identical weight terms but the former will come into this contest fitter and he jumps from a good draw. The Dorrie Sham inmate gets the nod to reverse the form.

Race 6: MY WORLD(3)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Stan ELLEY

The Cape raiders should feature prominently at the top of the betting boards and could do likewise in the final outcome. MY WORLD is a proven stayer and he has shown lots of promise in the 'Mother City'. He fought back doggedly to beat older rivals over this trip in his penultimate outing and had an eye-catching prep run over seven furlongs, coming into this event. The son of Ideal World does have to negotiate the right hand turn for the first time but he has lots of class about him and should give a very good account of himself.

Race 9: BLUE BOY(5)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Gavin SMITH

BLUE BOY has improved with each of his three grass efforts and he went close despite casting his shoe in yielding conditions over this c & d, two weeks ago. He finished exactly half a length adrift of the runner-up PLAIN OF WISDOM that day but could turn things around here.

Race 8: TOM STRONG(9) (Each Way)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Renate DU PLESSIS

TOM STRONG was below-par in his last c & d effort but that was in yielding conditions and he will prefer good ground today. He showed lots of promise prior to that and the son of Silvano still has plenty more improvement to come. The four-year old gelding should bounce back to his best and he is still ahead of the handicapper.
