Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: JAY AGAIN(1)
Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Paul GADSBY

JAY AGAIN has shown useful potential but seems to be plagued with issues. He returns from another rest but meets a very ordinary field and could prove too good here, provided he is fit and well. The Jay Peg gelding is c & d suited and gets a top jockey aboard.

Jockey: Stuart RANDOLPH - Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

PENA PALACE is also plagued with niggles but has displayed fair ability to date. She races well fresh, which is encouraging as the daughter of Judpot returns from yet another layoff. She stayed on well for a good 3rd over a mile on this track last time and is a major contender, despite the fact that she may be slow into stride once again.

Jockey: Mandla NTULI - Trainer: Michael ROBERTS

CORKER STALKER has made huge improvement since being equipped with blinkers and returning to the polytrack. He stayed on for 3rd in his last two c & d attempts and he meets much weaker opposition tonight. The bay gelding is unfortunately drawn awkwardly once more but he should still go close in this field.

Jockey: Stuart RANDOLPH - Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

This is yet another low-key handicap on what is a very tough nights racing and obvious caution is advised. The lightly raced three-year old BALTIC AMBER has improved significantly with each of his three career runs. He produced a strong finish to beat a subsequent winner going away over this c & d in his comeback run, seven weeks ago. He has unfortunately drawn wide on his handicap debut but the son of Alado will strip fitter and clearly has much more to offer. He meets ordinary older rivals and could defy his big mass and wide draw.

Race 6: SOCIETI(12) (Each Way)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY - Trainer: Dennis BOSCH

The Libertine c & d formline on 17/04 could dominate proceedings in this low-key sprint handicap and the filly SOCIETI represents the value. The former Gauteng inmate has produced two satisfactory local runs over this c & d, the latest being a solid 4th in stronger company, despite racing wide. That effort earned her a five pound penalty but she is much better drawn tonight and meets the runner-up FIRE THE ROCKET on 6kgs better terms for a 3.50 lengths deficit.
