Race 1: LECTURE D(4)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: BANBURY(9)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY - Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

BANBURY needed both her comeback runs in Grade 1 company and she takes a big drop in class today. She is extremely well treated by the weights and now makes her winter season debut in KZN. The daughter of Horse Chestnut had promising form against top quality rivals prior to her 17 week break and she began her career really well in this province. The Gavin van Zyl inmate had a decent effort on this track in a Grade 1 and she should go very close from her good draw with just 52kgs on her back.

Jockey: Stuart RANDOLPH - Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

BIRKINS BEST has shown decent potential to date and she wasn't disgraced against male rivals over this c & d, eight days ago. She had useful form prior to that and more importantly, is back against her own sex today. The daughter of Miesque's Approval takes on an ordinary line-up and she should take a power of beating.

Jockey: Tristan GODDEN - Trainer: Craig EUDEY

ACADEMY PRINCESS is seldom far off and she has a definite affection for this surface. She has put up some good recent performances and her only career win came over this c & d. The daughter of Kahal will benefit from a 4kgs apprentice allowance and she is a big danger.

Race 7: AKII BUA(4)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

AKII BUA showed encouraging signs when he ran on again late in a competitive feature over 1750m on his return to KZN, recently. He handled this rise in distance well with a gutsy victory in Gauteng four runs back but disappointed in a subsequent feature. However, the son of Encosta De Lago drops slightly in class and he should go well in this event.

Race 6: STOLEN DESTINY(1) (Each Way)
Jockey: Calvin NGCOBO - Trainer: Colin SCOTT

This is an extremely competitive affair and a thrilling finish is expected. The grey gelding STOLEN DESTINY won a minor feature over this c & d earlier in the year and he improved despite a wide draw, two weeks ago. He was running on at the finish when just under two lengths adrift of MUMSY'S JET that day and is now 2kgs better off with his conqueror. Furthermore, the Colin Scott inmate jumps from pole position and gets the services of a confident 4kgs claiming apprentice.
