Race 3: GOLD BANK(2)
Race 6: FUTURA(1)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Stuart RANDOLPH - Trainer: Pat LUNN

BIKINI BILLY was disappointing on the grass last time but he produced a classy debut over this c & d, prior to that. He is the clear first pick of the raced runners but does have some well-bred newcomers to deal with. Still, the Rebel King gelding is drawn in pole and should make his experience count.

Race 2: FUSSY BALL(2)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

Only a short head separated FUSSY BALL and MUSUCHELALOMISSUS on their meeting behind Colchis over 1900m on this track two weeks ago, in favour of the former. He did make the expected improvement in blinkers but was given every chance before he tired late that day. The son of Admire Main will be better off from a good draw this time around but he will still have to contend heavily with the latter.

Race 6: FUTURA(1) - TOP BET
Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

The top class FUTURA ended his summer campaign in impressive fashion with an impressive Met victory over ten furlongs at Kenilworth last time out. The brilliant son of Dynasty makes his winter season debut but more importantly has now joined the Justin Snaith team. His conditioner has found the ideal race for him to kickstart his KZN campaign and the four-year old colt is extremely well in on official ratings. He has plenty of targets for the season and though he won't be pushed hard here, his sheer class should carry him through.

Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Alyson WRIGHT

DARK AVENGER had little go his way but he still made a pleasing local debut over this trip, two weeks ago, He stayed on well for 3rd that day and should build on that performance. The son of Western Wint- er will again wear blinkers and he should go close from a handy draw.

Race 5: GALLICA ROSE(3) (Each Way)
Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

GALLICA ROSE has issues but she is a very talented stayer and she made a pleasing local debut in her comeback run, three weeks ago. She had an excellent start to the season in the Cape but the biggest worry is that she gets going too late in her races and this short run-in could find her out. Neverthe- less, her regular pilot will be aware of that and the daughter of Silvano's class could carry her through.
