Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

SUGAR FROSTED drifted in the betting market but caught the eye with a solid debut performance over this c & d, two weeks ago. The Ramsden inmate finished strongly for a good 3rd, beaten just under two lengths and as is customary, her trainer's horses make plenty of improvement with experience. She should certainly build on that performance.

Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Mike BASS

ROMAN SILVANUS has improved with blinkers but may have felt six furlongs too sharp for him last time. Still, he produced a smart effort when outrun late in that comeback run and he will be fitter now. The son of Silvano has already proven himself over this c & d and he should have finished closer in his penultimate run but for some traffic issues. He gets Fayd'Herbe up for the first time today and should go close.

Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

OVIDIO renews his rivalry with FORTE DE OURO and the Snaith inmate gets the nod to turn the tables on his conqueror. The son of Danehill Dancer moved up menacingly before staying on for 2nd behind the latter over this c & d last time but he is now 2.5kgs better off at the weights. He is unfortunately drawn wide but should stake another serious claim. The four-year old gelding is knocking hard at the door for that second career win.

Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Mike BASS

ALASCAN MAIDEN has produced two useful comeback runs off her competitive rating and she now has her third run after the break. She may have still just needed that latest effort over the mile but will be cherry-ripe today and should go very close from her midfield draw. She has no issues with this shorter distance and Fayd'Herbe know her well.

Jockey: Grant V/NIEKERK - Trainer: Mike BASS

More was expected of the three-year old BAKSTEEN but he continued to disappoint and his trainer had little option but to geld the son of Judpot. The bay gelding is rated by the yard and he would have benefitted from the 21 week absence. The form of his last Gauteng start has worked out well and he could show exactly what he is capable of, provided the operation has been a success. The three-year old jumps from pole position and doesn't face the strongest field.
