Race 3: OUTA MY WAY(2)
Jockey: Hennie GREYLING - Trainer: Leon ERASMUS

This is an intriguing juvenile contest as the powerful Mike de Kock yard steps out the unraced Australian import TRACY'S LEGACY. The daughter of More Than Ready is out of a Redoute's Choice mare and Johnny Geroudis gets the ride. The betting market will obviously be a good indicator. The other first timer worth keeping tabs on is the R400 000 purchase, NEGROMARO from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable. She is a daughter of Fort Wood out of the classy Al Mufti mare Touch Of Tuscan. Francois Herholdt climbs aboard the grey filly. The clear first pick of the raced runners is the one-time winner OUTA MY WAY from the Leon Erasmus stable. This bay filly has improved smartly since her easy maiden victory at the Vaal, second time out. She had a most interesting last feature effort over this c & d. The daughter of St Petersburg raced up with the early speed but quickly fell back before catch- ing the eye with late progress. She takes a huge drop in class and is a major contender. Her experience will stand her in good stead.

Jockey: Craig ZACKEY - Trainer: Dominic ZAKI

The Craig Zackey/Dominic Zaki combination has continued their brilliant run of form that started with the Grade 1 win on ARABIAN BEAT and this bay colt makes his eagerly awaited return to the track. The son of Black Minnaloushe has won 2 of his 3 career outings, the latest being the smart c & d win at the highest level. His conditioner decided against the trip to Scottsville but could still be planning a raid to KZN on July day. This bay colt should have too much class for this field and is certainly one to follow.

Jockey: Deon SAMPSON - Trainer: Louis GOOSEN

DOING IT FOR DAN is ultra-consistent and has loads of ability. He tried hard when beaten just over one length by MORPHEUS over six furlongs last time but is 2kgs better off with his conqueror and the blinkers could make a serious difference. The Windrush gelding will relish the likely blistering pace and looks set to exact revenge.

Jockey: Karl ZECHNER - Trainer: Clinton BINDA

The Clinton Binda yard holds a decent hand in this low-key handicap with DEVIOUS TIGER and NIGHT EDITOR. The pair are in good touch and were only separated by one length in favour of the latter on the Graduation Day run over six furlongs at the Vaal on 05/05. The former is slightly worse off at the weights but is suited to blinkers and had one good c & d showing.

Race 7: SCENT(9) (Each Way)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY - Trainer: Ormond FERRARIS

The three-year olds could have a big say in this handicap but the value could lie with the lesser fancied SCENT from the Ormond Ferraris yard. The Derby Trial formline behind Legal Eagle over ten furlongs could be worth following and the top rating is best weighted on that performance. He wasn't far behind STONGEHENGE and MASTER SWITCH on that occasion after moving up well and meets both runners on highly favourable weight terms. The son of Silvano could prefer this slightly shorter distance and he has huge claims with just 53.5kgs on his back, provided he is suited by blinkers. He clearly found the Derby trip too far for him in the soft conditions last time out.
