Race 3: BIG SHOT(1)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Karl ZECHNER - Trainer: St John GRAY

SEVEN KINGDOMS is lightly raced and she showed good improvement when making steady progress over seven furlongs on the grass, recently. She now tries the sand for the first time and has scope for further improvement. Her trainer's horses usually take to this surface and she could be the right one in an ordinary opening affair.

Race 2: NIGHT MOVES(2)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Louis GOOSEN

NIGHT MOVES unfortunately dislodged her workrider at the 250m mark of her latest start but she could make amends here. She had some fair form prior to that and now tries the sand with Strydom in the saddle. She will be fitter and could stake a serious claim in an ordinary field.

Race 3: BIG SHOT(1) - TOP BET
Jockey: Ryan MUNGER - Trainer: Luchelle KRUGER

BIG SHOT loves racing on the sand and he has produced some commendable efforts despite often being drawn wide. He was clearly second best over this c & d last time but was in turn, eight lengths ahead of the 3rd placed finisher DUBLIN REBEL. The son of A P Arrow has cracked a better draw this time and he could be rewarded for his consistent sand form. He should go very close in this field.

Race 4: ISOSHA(8)
Jockey: Randall SIMONS - Trainer: Roy MAGNER

There are a few classy sand performers in this competitive handicap & a thrilling finish is expected. The three-year old ISOSHA takes a big leap in class but he is lightly raced and appears way above average on this surface. He won his maiden on his sand debut over this c & d by more than six lengths and has produced two decent subsequent handicap performances. The son of Mullins Bay ran on well for 2nd over 1450m in his penultimate outing and then finished a creditable 3rd over nine furlongs, next time out. He has a handy galloping mass of 53kgs and will make his presence felt from pole position.

Race 6: RIVER RUN(10) (Each Way)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: George SCOTT

RIVER RUN showed signs of life when he came from well back for a decent 4th over seven furlongs on the grass, recently. The daughter of Surging River is better than her post maiden form suggests and very interestingly, she has endured shocking draws in all six runs since shedding her maiden tag at the 5th attempt. The three-year old bay filly has finally cracked an excellent barrier position and she could be a big contender, if handling this surface. She gets the services of Piere Strydom.
