Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: MACHISMO(9)
Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON - Trainer: Sean TARRY

MACHISMO had a shocking second run but that was his first try around the turn and he probably didn't enjoy the yielding conditions. He showed huge promise when he finished strongly for 2nd on debut over this c & d prior to that and should quickly bounce back to form. The Tarry inmate would have benefitt- ed from the short seven week absence and he is the pick of the raced runners.

Race 3: SHE'S A DRAGON(11) - TOP BET
Jockey: Chase MAUJEAN - Trainer:  Craig MAYHEW

SHE'S A DRAGON found outside betting support when she produced an eye-catching debut over this c & d, three weeks ago. She raced just off the early speed but challenged strongly over the final two furlongs before going down just under one length to the heavily supported victress. This daughter of Jay Peg is obviously showing her conditioner good work back home and she should make natural improvem- ent with the run under her girth. She should stake a serious claim in this field.

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS

DRIFTING DUSK was surprisingly handed a big six pound penalty for her well beaten 4th in a feature last time but she is capable of better, particularly on good ground. She is above-average and drops in class in this handicap. The three-year old filly has produced two solid performances at this level previously and she can stake a serious claim on her third run after a break. It is very encouraging that Delpech retains the ride on the daughter of Dynasty.

Jockey: Hennie GREYLING - Trainer: Leon ERASMUS

ZANZIBAR MAN loves racing at this track and he bounced right back to best with an impressive c & d win four weeks ago. He accounted for a few of today's rivals in that contest and despite a four pound penalty, he still holds them safe at the weights. He meets a similar line-up and has strong claims of following up.

Race 7: CELLARMASTER(9) (Each Way)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY - Trainer: Paul PETER

CELLARMASTER showed really encouraging signs with a promising last performance despite little going his way. There is huge merit in the effort as the son of Dupont raced very wide throughout but still went down just three parts of a length into 3rd over this trip at Turffontein. He was just penalized one pound but will be cherry-ripe on his third run after the layoff and should build on that run.
