Race 2: WICKED LASS(12)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Gavin SMITH

ROSSLYN CHAPEL has faced considerably stronger to date and his slow start cost him in his most recent effort. He seems to prefer sprinting and the blinkers could make a real difference to the son of Right Approach. Khumalo retains the ride on the Gavin Smith inmate.

Race 2: KING'S FIRE(3)
Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON - Trainer: Renate DU PLESSIS

KING'S FIRE has finished runner-up in both her starts to date and she should continue to improve. Her debut outing was over this c & d and she clearly found the minimum trip too sharp for her last time out. However, that form was given a major boost when the third placed runner Radisha easily won her maiden at the next attempt. This daughter of Rebel King will have more to offer and she could prove tough to beat over this extra furlong.

Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

TAKETOTASK is better than his last two efforts and could be the right one, if capturing the form he showed when making a smart debut over this c & d, three runs back. The Lecture gelding ran on strongly for a close 3rd that day and he has scope for improvement. He wasn't disgraced in subsequent efforts but did have his first polytrack attempt last time out. He meets an ordinary bunch.

Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Mike STEWART

Visiting KZN jockey Sean Cormack makes a surprising trip to the 'windy city' and PROMICING POLLY could be his chief mission. The top jockey has formed a great partnership with the five-year old mare who has loads of class and is clearly better than her current rating. She was beaten fair and square by a high class sort when unfavourably weighted in a conditions plate last time but she did well to run on for 2nd after being slow into stride.

Race 5: RANGE LIGHTS(16) (Each Way)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Jacques STRYDOM

RANGE LIGHTS has produced some fair recent form and the daughter of King Of Kings is a big contender in this ordinary low-key handicap. She usually runs on late and did just that when a close 4th over this c & d against stronger, last Friday. The four-year old filly now gets the services of a top jock- ey and she should be competitive. She is effective against male rivals as she showed when a close 3rd behind Turnstone over this c & d a few runs back.
