Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: MUWAARY(3)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

MUWAARY was an impressive debut victor on the Highveld and he followed up that effort with a decent run at Grade 1 level at Scottsville, second time out. He tired late into a creditable 4th after moving up well and would have come on with the experience. The imported son of O'Reilly has obvious scope for improvement and he drops heavily in class tonight. This short run-in will suit his racing style and he could take some beating from his handy draw.

Jockey: Luyolo MXOTHWA - Trainer: Ivan MOORE

JIVE SESSION seems over her major hassles that kept her out of action for lengthy spells and she is clearly loving life in KZN. She has produced two quality performances over this c & d from wide draws and her conditioner has found the perfect race for her to exit the maiden ranks. Furthermore, the daughter of Opera King has finally cracked a good draw and this combination was successful at Scottsv- ille, nine days ago. She should go very close in this ordinary field.

Race 5: SCOTS PARTY(1)
Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Paul GADSBY

SCOTS PARTY has relished going over ground and he is effective on both surfaces. He finished runner-up in his last two efforts and has strong claims of going one better. The A P Arrow gelding meets some competitive rivals but has further scope for improvement and should go close from pole position.

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Sean TARRY

WILLOW MAGIC is coming right back to his best and he performed way above his rating when he finished well for 2nd in the Gold Challenge over a mile on this track, two weeks ago. The four-year old chestnut colt has proven his versatility and he had a pleasing sprint, also in a Grade 1 over this trip in his penultimate effort. The Sean Tarry inmate is drawn in midfield and is best handicapped. He should take a power of beating with regular pilot Strydom in the irons.

Race 6: COME FLY WITH ME(3) (Each Way)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike BASS

This is an intriguing Pinnacle Stakes affair and with a likely sedate gallop expected, an upset could be on the cards. The Mike Bass inmate COME FLY WITH ME takes a steep rise in class but she is progres- sive and there was plenty of merit in her last performance. The daughter of Jet Master shouldered top weight when trying the mile and she struck the front at the 800m mark at Scottsville but still stayed on for a creditable 3rd, beaten just over two lengths. She may have still just needed the outing but will be cherry-ripe on her third run after the layoff and has definite scope for further improvement. The likely sedate gallop could play into her hands and her conditioner has engaged top jockey Anthony Delpech.
