Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: A TIME TO DREAM(1)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

A TIME TO DREAM had a smart c & d debut at long-odds when she ran on well for 2nd, two weeks ago. The betting market suggested that she wasn't fully wound-up and that experience would have brought the daughter of Dynasty on. She should make natural improvement and merits obvious respect.

Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

The Joey Ramsden stable is well represented in this contest and the likely favourite SUPERCILIOUS gets the vote. The well-related daughter of Visionaire has improved with each of her three runs and she recorded her career best effort, six weeks ago. She attempted the turn for the first time and ran on well for 2nd, beaten just over one length by a fair sort who placed in a feature since. The bay filly is bred to love the step-up to the mile and she should continue to improve. Her good draw is an obvious plus but it will be interesting to see how she goes with blinkers fitted for the first time.

Race 4: LOVAR(8)
Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

LOVAR heads the juvenile charge against their year-older counterparts in this maiden contest. The Ramsden inmate has found her best form in recent efforts and she ran on well to finish in the money in her last two starts. The likely strong pace of this event will suit her perfectly and she should go very close in this field.

Jockey: Corne ORFFER - Trainer: Brett CRAWFORD

CONSONANCE is lightly raced and has shown fair ability in his four runs to date. He may have still just needed his last run but will be cherry-ripe today and could make a bold bid. The Brett Crawford inmate is bred to stay all day and he seems to prefer racing from off the pace. His wide barrier draw could force his in-form jockey to drop the Jay Peg gelding out and that will play to strength. He has good scope for improvement and is a major contender in this final event.

Race 7: TRIBAL DANCE(2) (Each Way)
Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD - Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

TRIBAL DANCE also didn't enjoy his Gauteng Autumn campaign but he raced at the highest level and now takes a major drop in class. The son of Tiger Dance would have benefitted from his ten week absence and he continues to drop in the ratings. He is certainly reaching a competitive mark and could give a good account of himself, if fit and well. The Marshall inmate has no issues with this distance and he can easily pull this off.
