Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: IMPERIAL DANCER(6)
Jockey: Corne ORFFER - Trainer: Brett CRAWFORD

This is a competitive maiden juvenile contest, made that much more interesting by the fact that all nine entrants race over the mile for the first time in their short careers. IMPERIAL DANCER has shown useful form thus far and his last seven furlong start clearly suggested that he could relish this trip. The son of Elusive Fort raced handy from his wide draw before he ran on again for 3rd at the finish. He was just over one length adrift of the pacesetting frontrunner SCHACHAR but will be a different proposition over the mile. Unfortunately, he has another awkward barrier to contend with.

Race 2: CELTIC REVIVAL(5) - TOP BET
Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD - Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

Just half a dozen fillies go to post for this maiden contest but there could still be an exciting finish. CELTIC REVIVAL had little go her way but she still made a fair debut over a mile on this track three weeks ago. She was slow into stride and raced green but did run on late for 4th and that experience would have brought her on considerably. The daughter of Yeats will have no stamina issues over this ten furlongs and she should make natural improvement.

Race 5: SILVER SALVER(3)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Eric SANDS

SILVER SALVER is better than his last few runs suggest and he will be suited to this slight drop in class. The Silvano gelding is c & d suited and usually runs well for Cheyne. He represents the same Brutal Force c & d formline as the speedy WESTERN MOVIE.

Race 6: WESTERN STORM(9)
Jockey: Brandon MORGENROOD - Trainer: Glen PULLER

WESTERN STORM and TAR HEEL renew their rivalry in this Grade 3 contest and the former will be looking to avenge his defeat in the Somerset 1200. He was beaten just under two lengths by the latter that day but was staying on at the finish and is now 2kgs better off at the weights. The Glen Puller inmate should again be competitive and he could turn things around at the weights.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 7: FROMAFAR(1) (Each Way)
Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

Only a small field of 7 fillies go to post for this Grade 3 juvenile event but they are all really smart sorts an a thrilling finish is expected. FROMAFAR is the only unbeaten runner in this contest but the Kannemeyer inmate does take a considerable rise in class. However, she was super-impressive on her c & d debut victory over a subsequent winner and there will be huge improvement to come from the daughter of Trippi. She could prove equal to this huge task at hand.
