Race 2: GLAMOUR GAL(1)
Race 5: RED PERIL(1)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD - Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

MYSTICAL TWILIGHT had a great start to his juvenile career on the Highveld and he placed in a Grade 1 over 1160m last time out. He deserved his eight week absence after a tough campaign and now drops heavily in class on his hometown debut. He meets some unknowns, in terms of newcomers but it will take a good one to beat the Marshall inmate.

Race 2: MAMSELLE AL(2)
Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

MAMSELLE AL has finished runner-up in her last three starts and her conditioner has found the perfect contest for her to achieve that deserved maiden victory. She gets the services of visiting jockey Khumalo and should go close in this line-up.

Race 3: FRENNI(4)
Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD - Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

FRENNI has shown fair form and she had a fair last c & d effort in open company. Just like her other rivals, she never got to grips with the pacesetting easy winner but was just over one length adrift of the runner-up and now faces her own age group. She will be better equipped to handle the turn and should continue to progress. The bay filly will again jump from pole position.

Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Mike BASS

ROMAN SILVANUS is holding his form very well and should go close in this line-up. The Mike Bass inmate is c & d suited and Neisius would have learnt about him after partnering the gelding en route to a 2nd best finish in yielding conditions, three weeks ago. He retains the ride on the Silvano chestnut who proved his determination with a gutsy penultimate effort over slightly further, despite being slow into stride and not striding out. He easily accounted for today's biggest danger, HURRICANE ATTACK in that start.

Race 5: ROYAL TRUMP(13) (Each Way)
Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

ROYAL TRUMP has shown fair post maiden form and he might have finished closer had his jockey given him a more vigorous ride over 2400m in soft conditions, three weeks ago. Still, he finished just out of the money and though he has a bit to find with the runner-up RED PERIL, the engaging of a top jockey could make a significant difference for the Kannemeyer inmate. The imported son of Teofilo still has scope for progress and his only career win came over this c & d. He represents decent each/way value with Neisius aboard, from his good draw.
