Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

STAR EXPRESS wasn't fancied when she surprised with a cracking debut effort in open company over this c & d, three weeks ago. Furthermore, the Snaith inmate had little go her way that day but she still ran on well to finish a close 3rd, beaten under one length at the wire. There should be natural improvement to come from the daughter of Silvano who now faces her own age group for first time. She gets the stable jockey aboard and should give a very good account of herself.

Jockey: Grant BEHR - Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

ROYAL TRUMP is a lightly raced four-year old who is developing into a fair stayer, despite his issues. He has come on well since his ten furlong maiden victory and posted two fair subsequent runs. The son of Teofilo would have needed both those runs but meets FORTE DE OURO on 3.5kgs better weight terms for a 3.85 length deficit in his penultimate outing. He showed good improvement when trying 2500m in his last run and now has his peak effort. The entire' drops in class and he can stake a serious claim in this line-up.

Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

This is yet another competitive handicap and caution must be exercised. The striking grey gelding RICHARD STRAUSS often gets going too late in his races but he has ability and had two eye-catching recent c & d efforts at a higher level. The Snaith inmate will need plenty of luck in running in the closing stages but should once again be finishing well.

Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Paddy KRUYER

HURRICANE ATTACK may have felt the effects of his useful comeback run over this c & d when he perform- ed below-par over nine furlongs, recently. The Kruyer inmate caught the eye when he finished well for 4th in that penultimate start and he now has his peak outing. He should go very well in this field.

Jockey: Robert KHATHI - Trainer: Mike BASS

Ten very moderate fillies go to post for this maiden contest and caution is advised. The long-time maiden QUICK STEP ROSIE does seem well held by a few rivals on her penultimate showing behind Domina over this c & d but she did overrace with a 4kgs claiming apprentice. Her last run proves that she is much better than that and the daughter of Antonius Pius moved up menacingly before tiring late over nine furlongs. All that after she endured a slow start and this mile could suit her perfectly. She now gets a stronger jockey in the saddle and could upstage her more fancied rivals.
