Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

The older horses have very moderate form and the juvenile SHARP PRINCESS should dominate the betting market and the finish of this maiden contest. The Mike de Kock inmate has produced two quality efforts over six furlongs on the Highveld and she looks well above-average. She has a tendency to hang in the latter stages, which is concerning, but the experience would have brought her on and she has huge scope for improvement. The daughter of Dynasty will relish this rise in trip and she should come home lonely, if handling the turn. She took on older sorts in her last outing. It is worth noting that the 3rd placed runner of that last start has subsequently franked that form with a victory.

Race 4: SON OF SILVER(13)
Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Frank ROBINSON

SON OF SILVER has shown promise in his three outings to date and his last experience around the turn will help his cause. The Mogok gelding made steady progress from his wide draw on the polytrack that day and he should continue to improve. The grey gelding is drawn in pole today and he has bright claims with Khumalo retaining the ride.

Race 9: FORT EMBER(12) - TOP BET
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Paul PETER

FORT EMBER is obviously showing good work back home and the juvenile daughter of Elusive Fort produced an eye-catching debut over seven furlongs on this track, three weeks ago. She finished strongly for a close 3rd behind a subsequent feature winner and is bred to love every bit of this extra furlong. The Paul Peter inmate should make natural improvement and she should go very close in this field.

Race 8: AUCTION KING(3) (Each Way)
Jockey: Billy JACOBSON - Trainer: Paul LAFFERTY

AUCTION KING is way better than his last feature outing on this track and he now takes a big drop in class. He had solid form prior to that and is c & d suited. The four-year old gelding is drawn wide but usually produces a late burst and can still pull off this contest.
