Race 2: GAIN GROUND(2)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

GAIN GROUND found plenty of betting support on his promising debut over the mile at Greyville, two weeks ago. He was slightly slow into stride but challenged strongly in the closing stages before finishing three parts of a length adrift of the winner. The experience would have brought the son of Fort Wood on and he should have plenty more to offer. He is well drawn once more and merits healthy respect.

Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Mark DIXON

BLESSED RELEASE went off at long-odds on debut over this c & d but he produced a decent performance, nonetheless. He showed lots of speed from his unfavourable draw and ran on again at the finish for 3rd beaten five lengths by an easy winner. The runner-up boosted that form with an easy subsequent victory and this son of Kildonan should make natural improvement. He meets a very ordinary line-up and has strong claims of exiting the maiden ranks.

Race 6: ECO STORM(12)
Jockey: Calvin NGCOBO - Trainer: Garth PULLER

ECO STORM is holding his form and he likes this c & d. The four-year old gelding shoulders a low mass of just 48kgs, thanks to a 4kgs apprentice allowance and he should be very competitive in this field. The two heavyweights NOBLE STAR and GO WEST MCGRAW are in good touch and should give a good account of themselves. The former is raiding from the Highveld and he was given a strong ride when he beat a decent line-up over this trip, two weeks ago. That earned him a four pound penalty but he seldom runs a bad race and merits strong consideration.

Race 7: DYNASTIC(2)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

The three-year old DYNASTIC has got his career back on track since arriving in this province. He was given an enterprising ride from the front as he easily beat a competitive field over this trip at Greyville last time. The Dynasty colt was handed a four pound penalty but he still has lots more improvement to come and now has his peak run. He is drawn in pole position and has strong claims of following up.

Race 8: ROY'S GOLD(4) (Each Way)
Jockey: Stuart RANDOLPH - Trainer:  Corinne BESTEL

ROY'S GOLD has been moderate since her promising sprint debut but she now has her third run after the layoff and steps up to the mile. Her pedigree suggests that the daughter of Horse Chestnut will love every bit of this extra ground and she will be aided by a good draw on her debut around the bend. She could cause the upset in this weak line-up.
