Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: A P CHANEL(12) - TOP BET
Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE - Trainer: Gary ALEXANDER

A P CHANEL benefitted from the break and she relished the ground when making smart improvement over a mile on this course, second time out. She was again drawn wide but finished well for 2nd behind the cleverly ridden winner. She was in turn, half a length clear of the 3rd placed finisher ROSE OF CASTI- LE and will strip fitter today. The daughter of A P Arrow is bred to relish the extra furlong and she should continue to progress. Her good draw and Andrew Fortune are major advantages.

Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Brian WIID

BELUGA BERRY has shown marked improvement with blinkers and he ran on well to finish in the money in his last two outings over the mile. He has just over one length to find on the likely favourite REGAL FORCE on their last meeting over a mile on this track but has cracked a good draw today and should easily see out the extra furlong. The son of Fort Beluga gets the services of Gavin Lerena and he can reverse the form.

Jockey: Weichong MARWING - Trainer: Devin LITTLE

FEATHERFOOT needed both her comeback runs but showed exactly what she is capable of with an impressive last display at pinnacle level over seven furlongs. The daughter of Silvano bounced back to her best when she ran on strongly for a close 2nd and she is better over the mile. She meets another competiti- ve field but has eventually cracked a good draw and that will be crucial on this tight track. The four year old filly won her maiden over this c & d & she now gets the expert services of Weichong Marwing. There are plenty of dangers though.

Jockey: Johnny GEROUDIS - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

GUY FROM DUBAI is a decent stayer and is certainly better than his recent form suggests. The two pound drop in his rating will help his cause and the Mike de Kock inmate takes a big dip in class. He won his only c & d start and should bounce back to form in this field.

Race 5: ARKANSAS(9) (Each Way)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY - Trainer: Ormond FERRARIS

This is an extremely competitive low-key apprentice handicap and plenty of caution is advised. The value in the contest could lie with the four-year old gelding, ARKANSAS from the Ormond Ferraris yard. The son of Antonius Pius is better than his recent form suggests and he clearly didn't enjoy racing on the sand. He is most effective on this tight circuit and finished strongly for a close 3rd over this c & d, the last time he raced on grass. His apprentice has ridden him before which is always an advantage.
