Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: MAMSELLE AL(1)
Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

MAMSELLE AL was below-par in soft underfoot conditions last time but she finished runner-up in three consecutive starts prior to that and should be given another chance. She has no issues with this trip and she easily accounted for CASHEL LEAF over this c & d in her penultimate run.

Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Mike BASS

ROCKET MASTER is improving and he has plenty going for him in this contest. The Mike Bass inmate has finished in the money in his last two c & d efforts and he has drawn best of the principle contenders. He should give a very good account of himself and can definitely go one better than his last effort.

Race 6: PAOLO(6)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

Just nine runners go to post for the day's topliner but with little separating many of them, we could be in line for a cracking finish. PAOLO has obviously benefitted from his latest absence & he produced a strong finish for 2nd, beaten three parts of a length by FRIENDLY TIBBS (1kg worse off) over this c & d, four weeks ago. He was given a two pound penalty for his troubles but has now drawn pole position on his third run after the layoff and can get that deserved next career win.

Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

There should be plenty of pace in this fillies and mares handicap but her sheer determination could carry the Snaith inmate, SUNSET TRIPP home. The daughter of Trippi has produced some solid efforts in stronger company and she is probably at her best up to seven furlongs. The chestnut filly lacked extra late in yielding conditions in a feature over a mile last time but got up late to win a very good contest over this c & d, prior to that. She drops in class and will be competitive from her good draw.

Race 4: PSYCHO SYD(16) (Each Way)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

The juveniles have the most scope and could dominate their ordinary older counterparts. PSYCHO SYD caught the eye when making late progress in both his sprints and he should build on that. It could be worth following the progress of Aspara in the opening event as that rival finished just over one length in front of this son of Rebel King in the Purple Mountain c & d event.
