Race 1: ROCK ON BABY(9)
Race 8: BORA BORA(17)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer:  Dennis DRIER

ROCK ON BABY drifted alarmingly in the betting market but she still produced a promising debut over this c & d, four weeks ago. The Drier inmate showed lots of speed and was only outrun late by a smart Gauteng raider. That experience would have brought her on and she could take some beating from a favourable barrier position.

Race 2: JET AIR(1)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON - Trainer: Mike BASS

There are some useful juveniles on display in this contest and an exciting finish is expected. JET AIR has disappointed in both his poor KZN feature outings but he takes a big drop in class and could show exactly what he is capable of. The Visionaire colt should enjoy the rise in distance and has plenty of improvement to come.

Race 3: BIG SUGAR(1)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Charles LAIRD

BIG SUGAR has shown fair feature form since her smart debut victory and she drops in class today. She made late progress to finish just out of the money in a feature over seven furlongs last time, despite racing wide and could enjoy the extra furlong. The form of that event has worked out well with the runner-up and 3rd place finishers, acquitting themselves well in a subsequent Grade 1 contest. This daughter of More Than Ready has plenty of room for improvement and she jumps from a very good draw.

Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: James GOODMAN

The speedy juvenile fillies TIDE IS TURNING and LADY PENRHYN could dominate their ordinary older rivals. The former found longshot betting support when she produced a cracking c & d debut in mid April. She would have strengthened during her 13 week absence and has lots of natural improvement to come. Anton Marcus should easily negotiate her unfavourable barrier and the daughter of Captain Al should go close to winning.

Race 6: ALWAYS AL(6) (Each Way)
Jockey: Athandiwe MGUDLWA - Trainer: Sean TARRY

The veteran campaigner ALWAYS AL is battling for consistency but he has been thereabouts in recent outings and he could enjoy the run of the race. He is at his best when adopting frontrunning tactics and should easily handle this rise in class. He is drawn well over an ideal distance and can finally get that eighth career victory.
