Race 2: HONOLUA BAY(17)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Tyrone ZACKEY

GENTLEMAN ONLY has solid credentials but has been costly to follow. Nevertheless, he has probably met an ideal field and drops back to maiden company after a fair last run behind a top class sort. He is c & d suited and should get it right with Strydom in the saddle for the first time.

Race 5: LADY AL(6)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Clinton BINDA

This is a competitive fillies and mares sprint which could result in an exciting finish. LADY AL seems to have a bit to find with REGAL ROSE on their last meeting but the top selection should have plainly finished much closer. She had Khumalo in the irons and was rather mysteriously given a bump by Gavin Lerena's eventual winning ride, Usisi, in the very early parts of that event. Still, the daughter of Captain Al recovered to put up a running on effort for 3rd, beaten just under two lengths at the line She is only 1kg better off with the latter but can make amends with Strydom in the saddle.

Race 6: SUPER CLUB(3)
Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Wallace TOLMAY

This is yet another intriguing low-key handicap and the trip could be ideal for the three-year old gelding, SUPER CLUB. The bay has bounced back to form in recent outings but clearly found the minimum trip too sharp for him, eight days ago. He has a bit to find with CANNES on that performance but this extra distance will make all the difference and the Wallace Tolmay inmate can turn things around.

Jockey: Collen STOREY - Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

The Geoff Woodruff yard has turned the fortunes of LORD WINDSOR around and the expensive son of Silvano is in the form of his life. He has been excellent on the sand in recent outings & has already proven himself on the grass. The five-year old gelding is extremely well handicapped off his turf rating and is a huge contender in this field. He stays all day so this ten furlongs will suit him perfectly and he is clearly the one to beat with just 53kgs on his back.

Race 4: POST BOX(6) (Each Way)
Jockey: Ryan MUNGER - Trainer: Robbie SAGE

POST BOX doesn't stay 2600m which explains his shocking last effort and he must certainly come into the reckoning on the back of his eye-catching penultimate run over this trip. He was equipped with blinkers for the first time and quickened up smartly before tiring late into a close 5th. He has just over one length to find with PENSTOCK on that performance but can reverse the form with the latter, if ridden with slight restraint.
