Race 9: SEVEN SINGLE(11)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: SHOT(10)
Jockey: Chase MAUJEAN - Trainer:  Lucky HOUDALAKIS

SHOT was rested after his disappointing second outing and that break would have done him the world of good. He showed his capability when producing a smart debut performance over six furlongs prior to that. The Lateral gelding has a huge shout in this moderate contest.

Race 4: MEISSA(1) - TOP BET
Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE - Trainer: Gary ALEXANDER

The seasoned campaigner MEISSA made a welcome return to form over 1450m under a bigger mass last time and he could enjoy this drop in distance. Fortune retains the ride on the seven-year old who should feature prominently despite a slight rise in class.

Race 6: PETRICHOR(8)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Joe SOMA

PETRICHOR has some issues but is very capable and still has plenty of room for improvement. He boasts some useful recent form and the engaging of Strydom suggests that his conditioner will have him fit and ready. The chestnut gelding has done well racing fresh and he is a major contender.

Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

The Mike de Kock stable holds a strong hand in this final event and the four-year old ROYAL MASTER could be the right one with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. The well-related son of Jet Master had excuses for his poor sprint debut and he made huge improvement over the same c & d, next time out. He was beaten just over two lengths on that occasion and his conditioner has wasted little time in stepping him up to a mile. The bay colt should relish this trip on his pedigree and has plenty of room for improvement. He has a good draw to assist him on his first venture around the turn.

Race 5: CAPTAIN'S ANCHOR(10) (Each Way)
Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE - Trainer: Gary ALEXANDER

CAPTAIN'S ANCHOR reached a competitive mark in his rating and he made full use of that by producing an eye-catching finish to win over the minimum trip, three weeks ago. He may have escaped with a three pound penalty and is even better over this extra distance. The Captain Al gelding should handle the slight rise in class and he can follow up.
