Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: SUPANOVA(6)
Jockey: Sherman BROWN - Trainer: Leon ERASMUS

SUPANOVA found tons of betting support when he produced a decent debut over the minimum trip on this track, ten weeks ago. He was unfortunately slow into stride but ran on well for 4th, beaten just over two lengths at the line. That experience would have brought the well-bred son of Mogok on and this extra furlong will suit him better. The form of that event was franked when the 3rd place finisher shed his maiden subsequently.

Race 4: JIN-GO-LO-BA(6) - TOP BET
Jockey: Randall SIMONS - Trainer: Stuart PETTIGREW

JIN-GO-LO-BA benefitted from both experience and the extra furlong as she made smart improvement, second time out. She found crucial traffic problems close to home when finishing 4th behind her stablemate and that form has been franked. The daughter of Tiger Ridge will love the extra furlong and she obviously has plenty of scope for improvement. She meets a weaker line-up and could take a power of beating.

Race 5: HEPTAGON(1)
Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Sean TARRY

HEPTAGON is an improving three-year old who had a cracking handicap debut recently and he meets a very ordinary field today. He should have little issues with the mile but the only concern is that he races on this track for the first time. The Tarry inmate deservedly shoulders top weight but he should still take a power of beating.

Jockey: Craig ZACKEY - Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS

DANGEROUS DIVA has shown her best recent form over six furlongs but she is equally capable over this trip and her record proves it. She ran on late when 3rd behind Verge last time and is 1.5kgs better off with fellow three-year old EASY STREET who finished runner-up in that contest. The top rating has reached her competitive mark and she merits healthy respect.

Race 6: TABREEK(10) (Each Way)
Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

This is a competitive handicap and an exciting finish is expected. The lightly raced Mike de Kock entrant, TABREEK is plagued with issues but had an encouraging last sprint in his comeback run and can certainly build on that. He finished close-up in 4th in his only mile start and continues to drop in the merit ratings. The imported Redoute's Choice colt has good scope for improvement and despite rising in class, he could make his handy galloping mass count.
