Magic Tips Best Bets
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Grant PADDOCK
FORT KALIMENTA is lightly raced and he got back on form with a solid last performance on the grass when trying blinkers. The Fort Wood colt moved up well before tiring late over eleven furlongs and could prefer this slightly shorter distance. He will again wear the headgear and though his one local polytrack run was poor, he did have excuses on that occasion. Furthermore, he did shape on the Greyville polytrack prior to relocating and has scope for further improvement. The chestnut colt has strong claims in this line-up.
Race 2: MOTOMAN(4)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Gavin SMITH
MOTOMAN quickly got over his hiccup in a feature in his penultimate outing. He moved up well before tiring late into 3rd over this c & d last time. The chestnut gelding finished half a length behind the runner-up OH SO MODUS (subsequent winner) that day but now meets that rival on 2.5kgs better terms and can turn things around.
Race 5: CRACKPOT(1) - TOP BET
Jockey: Brandon MORGENROOD - Trainer: Mitchell WIESE
CRACKPOT continues to be consistent and she deserves her second career win. The daughter of Judpot handles her racing well and she is equally effective on both local surfaces. She is distance suited and despite top weight, the Mitch Wiese inmate will take a power of beating. The bay filly has finally cracked a good draw.
Race 7: DREAM TO REALITY(3)
Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE - Trainer: Jacques STRYDOM
DREAM TO REALITY is seldom far off and she produced the run of her career when staying on for a creditable 4th over a mile in a feature on this track, four weeks ago. She was unfortunately hiked a dozen pounds in her merit rating for the effort but still takes a big drop in class and is probably better over this shorter trip. The six-year old mare will again enjoy the services of in-form Fortune and she can defy the odds.
VALUE BET FOR TODAY:
Jockey: Brandon MORGENROOD - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN
SANFONEIRO was given a strong ride to victory over many of today's rivals over this c & d, three weeks ago and he may have escaped with just the minimum two pound penalty. He has always had an affection for this surface and is a lively contender once more.
