Winning Form Best Bets

Race 2: ANGEL OF MERCY(8)
Race 3: HONOLUA BAY(5)
Race 5: DOUBLE BIND(16)
Race 8: ALL I WANT(5)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: HONOLUA BAY(5)
Jockey: Penny J - Trainer: Stenger D N

HONOLUA BAY could make her experience count and she will strip fitter after perhaps needing her comeb- ack run, three weeks ago. She tired late into 3rd behind a highly rated sort and should continue to improve with racing. The daughter of Argonaut clearly deserves respect in this contest.

Race 4: SWEET HABANERO(8) - TOP BET
Jockey: Lerena G - Trainer: Houdalakis M N

SWEET HABANERO was below-par when she clearly needed her comeback run over this c & d, two weeks ago. She was 2nd best that day but is much better than that showing and the daughter of Kildonan will strip fitter now. She should show exactly what she is capable of today. The four-year old chestnut filly JIN-GO-LO-BA has shown useful form but she gives the indication that she could prefer a pair of blinkers. She did take a hard ride when managing a weak 3rd last time but Strydom retains the ride and she has good scope for further progress. She still merits healthy respect.

Race 6: BAD BOY BUDDY BOY(4)
Jockey: Khumalo S - Trainer: Zaki D

There are naturally plenty of speedy sorts in this competitive handicap but none may be quicker than BAD BOY BUDDY BOY from the Dominic Zaki yard. This fast son of Captain Al faded badly on Greyville's polytrack last time but would have benefitted from the seven week break. He completed an impressive c & d hat-trick prior to that and could bounce back to his best form today. The four-year old gelding still has plenty of room for improvement.

Race 7: MISS DECEMBER(2)
Jockey: Lerena G - Trainer: Magner R R

MISS DECEMBER is ultra-consistent and she loves racing over this c & d. She was involved in a titanic struggle when close-up in 2nd on the sand last time and she can certainly go one better here. The daughter of Var goes really well for Gavin Lerena.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 5: TOM FOOL(3)
Jockey: Sturgeon I - Trainer: Moffatt S

TOM FOOL lost his way against stronger in his last few runs and his conditioner resorted to gelding the four-year old. The son of Brave Tin Soldier showed plenty of earlier ability and was most success- ful on this track. He has come down nicely in the merit ratings and would have benefitted from the nine week break. He drops in class in his comeback run today and has definite claims to upset in this low-key handicap.
