Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS

FINDING ALICE is rated by her in-form conditioner and she was considered good enough to race against winners in her first two career outings during the Autumn. The Highveld raider made a bright debut when she ran on well for 3rd over 1160m but may have been outclassed in a feature behind a subsequent Grade 1 winner, second time out. She would have strengthened during her 21 week break and has obvious scope for improvement. The daughter of Mogok drops heavily in class to maiden company and she could take a power of beating. Her conditioner's horses usually travel down well.

Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Dennis BOSCH

There are a few natural frontrunners in this staying contest and a decent pace is expected. The ECO STORM c & d formline on 26/08 could dominate the outcome of this event and YOUR WORSHIP can turn the tables with his conqueror. The Overlord gelding ran on nicely from his wide draw for 2nd in his last start and now meets the former on 1.5kgs better terms. Furthermore, he has drawn much better and could be closer to the action. The former may still be allowed to dictate terms but the other pacesetters may push him hard all the way and that could be detrimental to his chances.

Race 7: JOAN RANGER(4)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS

Some really smart three-year olds battle it out with their older counterparts in this novice contest and once again a thrilling finish is expected. As is the norm during this stage of the season, the older rivals do have the weights in their favour but still the lesser exposed three-year olds could give them a serious go. JOAN RANGER is another raider from the red-hot Lucky Houdalakis yard and she thrashed some decent maiden rivals over this distance at the Vaal, second time out. She takes a steep rise in class today but is obviously way above-average and she has lots more to come. Her frontrunning tactics could stand her in good stead on this track and the well-bred daughter of Horse Chestnut has strong claims.

Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Dennis DRIER

The speedy LADY PENRHYN tried hard when going down a neck into 2nd on her handicap debut over six furlongs last time but this minimum distance probably suits her best for now. The Drier inmate thrash- ed her maiden rivals over this c & d in her penultimate outing and she has lots of room for further progress. She takes on a similar field and could take some beating.

Race 3: JULLIDAR(2) (Each Way)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY - Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

JULLIDAR had no option but to change his tactics last time and that worked to good effect as he ran on well to finish close-up over seven furlongs on this track, despite overracing. He may revert to his natural tactics in an event that could be without speed and the Van Zyl inmate can certainly build on that improved last run. The son of Just As Well still has good improvement in him.
