Race 3: SOLDIER'S CODE(11)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

The expensive purchase SOLDIER'S CODE went off as favourite on debut over this c & d, six weeks ago but weakened after racing green. He is obviously showing good work back home and that experience would have brought the well-related Western Winter colt on. He is the only entrant from his yard on this card and it is encouraging that Delpech retains the ride.

Race 4: ALESSIA(6)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

The Mike de Kock yard holds a strong hand in this opening leg of the jackpot and the stable elect ALESSIA could make her polytrack experience count. The lightly raced daughter of Judpot has improved with each of her three runs and she was caught late by her stable companion over this c & d, six weeks ago. The bay filly did cast a shoe on that occasion and she should continue to progress. She has another stablemate to contend with today but has a strong chance of going one better. Jockey Brian Nyawo will be hoping for a case of deja vu' as he partnered the conqueror of the top selection last time out and now climbs aboard MARTITA RIDGE, also from the De Kock ranks.

Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Dennis DRIER

ROY'S WINTER PATCH continues to improve with racing and he kept going to win a very good event over a mile on this course, four weeks ago. He was handed a big five pound penalty for his efforts but there will be a stronger pace over today's slightly shorter distance and the Drier inmate should relish that. He is once again well drawn and could defy the odds.

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Sean TARRY

CHENNAI BABE has changed her fortunes since trying this surface and she has plenty more improvement to come. She produced another strong finish to easily win her mile contest last time and gives every indication that she will be as effective over this sprint distance. The daughter of Kahal received the maximum eight pound penalty but she could still be ahead of the handicapper, particularly on this surface. She gets the expert services of Delpech and jumps from a good barrier position.

Race 5: SILVER TALE(9)
Jockey: Alec FORBES - Trainer: Alistair GORDON

SILVER TALE has gone back to basics since joining this in-form yard and she showed some signs of life with an improved comeback run over seven furlongs, recently. She was her customary slow-starting self but made late progress in stronger company, that day and will strip fitter now. The daughter of Silvano will relish this rise in distance and she could be competitive in this lower class.
