Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: TIPTOL(6)
Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

TIPTOL continues to be consistent but more was expected from the Howells trained inmate when she raced on the polytrack last time. She probably needed the effort and will strip much fitter over a preferred distance today. She has shown smart ability and is well handicapped with 53.5kgs on her back. She should easily handle the rise in class and it is very encouraging that she is the stable elect.

Race 4: JOYFUL MYSTERY(10)
Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Dennis BOSCH

JOYFUL MYSTERY was unfancied when she produced a cracking debut over this c & d, two weeks ago. She was understandably green but finished strongly and only failed by a short head. That effort would have brought the daughter of Ashaawes on immensely and she is her stable’s only runner on this card. Muzi Yeni retains the ride from gate 7.

Race 6: DE KOCK(3)
Jockey: Sean VEALE – Trainer: Dennis DRIER

DE KOCK finally came back to form recently and his conditioner has found the perfect race for the Dynasty gelding to build on that progress. The bay gelding produced a strong finish when going close to victory over this c & d in his penultimate start at pinnacle level but was clear 2nd best behind a top sort, three weeks ago. It is concerning that he hasn’t won for some time but drops in class and has every chance of going one better.

Race 7: MONTE CHRISTO(9)

Jockey: Alec FORBES – Trainer: Alistair GORDON

MONTE CHRISTO landed the outside gamble when he showed pace and kept on well to beat a subsequent winner on debut over this c & d, five weeks ago. He is clearly above-average and that experience would have brought him on smartly. The Trippi colt takes on considerably stronger on his handicap debut but could be equal to the task at hand and merits healthy respect.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 3: WOW HOLIDAY(4)
Jockey: Brian NYAWO – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

WOW HOLIDAY had two shocking attempts on the polytrack after a cracking debut on the grass but he was gelded three days after his last performance and could bounce back to form. The Argentinian import may prefer racing without blinkers and he could make serious improvement, if the operation has had the desired effect.
