Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: MAGIC(6)
Jockey: Brown S - Trainer: Erasmus L J

MAGIC is in great form, having finished runner-up in 4 of his last 5 outings over this c & d. He was close-up behind two highly regarded sorts in his last two runs and has strong claims of going one better.

Race 4: BALLERINI(2)
Jockey: Zechner K - Trainer: Zackey T

BALLERINI loves this c & d and she produced a cracking run when close-up in 3rd at pinnacle stakes level, last Thursday. She takes a huge drop in class in this low-key handicap and should take a power of beating, if repeating that effort. She usually handles her races well as she showed when a good 3rd in her penultimate outing, despite having her second run inside three days.

Jockey: Brown S - Trainer: Erasmus L J

WENSLEYDALE relished her first try on the sand as she produced a strong finish to win a good contest over six furlongs, two weeks ago. She was handed a three pound penalty but will be even better over this extra distance and has drawn extremely well. The Leon Erasmus inmate should go very close.

Race 8: INALA(4)
Jockey: Dillon D - Trainer: Azzie M G

INALA enjoys racing on this surface and the grey gelding produced a brilliant late burst for 2nd over a mile, two weeks ago. He didn't escape the handicapper's wrath as he picked up a hefty six pound penalty but is sure to relish this ten furlongs and could have a bright future on this track. The son of Windrush had some decent performances over this distance on the grass prior to his last outing.

Jockey: Dillon D - Trainer: Azzie M G

This is a very competitive contest and a big upset could be on the cards. MIGHTY MANZI had shown top potential from day one but is seemingly plagued with issues and returns from yet another long absence. Interestingly, he was gelded just a day after a disappointing last run and may have enjoyed the rest. The well-related Mike Azzie inmate has been heavily dropped in the ratings and with all his injuries, the switch to this surface could help his cause. He is still lightly raced and could make good improvement on his track debut.
