Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: POOL PARTY(6)
Jockey: Ian STURGEON - Trainer: Roy MAGNER

POOL PARTY is the clear first pick of the raced runners and she posted two smart sprints during the month of March. She had no issues with this distance on debut and wasn't disgraced in her first run around the turn in yielding conditions subsequently. Her experience should be crucial in tonight's opening event and the daughter of Kahal should be competitive. The main dangers could be the newcomers who must be closely monitored in the betting market.

Top Bet
Race 2: DOUBLE APPEAL(2)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Joe SOMA

DOUBLE APPEAL is a speedy sort who has shown good form to date and he is the pick of the raced contingent. The son of Trippi has finished runner-up in his last two outings, the latest when he was outrun late into 2nd over this c & d and Delpech retains the ride on the Joey Soma inmate who is drawn favourably.

Race 3: DUZI MOON(2)
Jockey: Ian STURGEON - Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

DUZI MOON has held his form really well in recent outings and interestingly has his first outing away from the inside course. He produced a creditable last effort over slightly further despite jumping from a poor draw and casting a shoe. The Woodruff inmate clearly has improvement to come and his good draw and the switch to this longer run-in should suit his cause.

Race 4: ETERNAL FIRE(1)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON - Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS

The speedy ETERNAL FIRE has produced some useful performances to date and she will be cherry-ripe on her third run back from a ten-week break tonight. She finished runner-up in her only c & d appearance last time and should benefit greatly from the services of an in-form 4kgs claiming apprentice.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: PARISIENNE CHIC(5)
Jockey: Jarryd PENNY - Trainer: St John GRAY

This is a very competitive fillies and mares handicap made that much more complicated by the likely lack of a solid gallop. That is a worry for the top selection PARISIENNE CHIC who overraced in her last two starts, the penultimate of which was with blinkers. Still, the St John Gray inmate stayed on for a very creditable 3rd over this trip last time after racing wide and she could be the right one, if she settles. She has a length and a half to find on the runner-up LUALA (1kg better off) but clearly has more scope than the latter and can turn things around from her good draw.
