Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: JEWEL QUEST(9)
Race 7: SARVE(3)
Race 8: DUCHESS CATHERINE(7)
Race 9: MAXIMO(7)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: JEWEL QUEST(9)
Jockey: M YENI – Trainer: C SPIES

Trainer Corne Spies hold a strong hand in this Maiden Juvenile Plate as he saddles four of the ten runners. JEWEL QUEST could be the pick of the yard and Muzi Yeni gets the ride. The bay filly has run only twice and made a fair debut against winners on the Highveld before reportedly not striding out in a below-par subsequent effort. She could be an entirely different proposition on her local debut and has huge claims.

TOP BET
Race 2: DUKE FLIES(4)
Jockey: R SIMONS – Trainer: S VON WILLINGH

DUKE FLIES is a long time maiden but has been in top form recently. He has finished runner-up in his last two runs over 1400m and 1000m respectively. The 1200m should be spot on for the 4yr old bay geld- ing & could dominate proceedings with the experienced Randall Simons aboard. The son of King’s Apostle possesses natural speed and is also capable of coming off the pace.

Race 7: SARVE(3)

Jockey: C ZACKEY – Trainer: C SPIES

SARVE showed good pace to keep her rivals at bay over this c & d in a Pinnacle Stakes, ten weeks ago. She is way above average & could follow up racing fresh. The 4yr old bay filly jumps from draw 2 and could have the run of the race again.

Race 9: BOLT OF LIGHT(1)
Jockey: M YENI – Trainer: M N PRINSLOO

BOLT OF LIGHT ran a much-improved race over this c & d when finishing 3rd, 2.25 lengths behind the winner, three weeks ago. Muzi Yeni teams up again with shrewd conditioner Tienie Prinsloo. The son of Dynasty drops in class and a bold effort is expected from a neat draw.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 4: FLYING PEG(1)
Jockey: J GREYLING – Trainer: M N PRINSLOO

FLYING PEG made her local debut three weeks ago over this c & d when running in stronger open company. She dashed her chances at the start when jumping awkwardly from the worst draw and was never in the race. The 3yr old bay filly could prove to be a different proposition in this weaker field & could cause the big upset from pole position.
