Race 2: DYNASTY'S BLOSSOM(3)
Jockey: Grant VAN NIEKERK - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

DYNASTY'S BLOSSOM was well-supported when she had an eye-catching sprint debut performance a fortnight ago. She was slow into stride but ran on smartly to finish just two lengths adrift in a competitive field. Her conditioner's horses usually make swift improvement from their debuts and this daughter of Dynasty could take some beating from the best draw. She will relish the rise in distance.

Race 3: ARCTIC GREEN(4)
Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

ARCTIC GREEN has decent form but she should have finished even closer in her comeback run after a long 23-week absence. She had to ease at crucial stages but ran on strongly for 4th over this c & d that day. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight will be fitter today and she has obvious claims from a good draw.

Race 7: PROFESSOR BRIAN(9)
Jockey: Grant VAN NIEKERK - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

The gelding has certainly done the trick for the imported four-year-old PROFESSOR BRIAN who is bidding for a hat-trick of victories after the cut. The Ramsden inmate showed an impressive turn of foot when easily beating weaker over this c & d last month. He picked up the maximum eight-pound penalty for his troubles but is certainly on the up and could raise his game further today. The engaging of top jockey Van Niekerk is very encouraging and the bay gelding will enjoy the likely blistering pace.

Race 8: DALIBHUNGA(6)
Jockey: Grant VAN NIEKERK - Trainer: Willem A NEL

DALIBHUNGA was strongly supported on his solid debut over five furlongs last month and he could be worth following. The extremely well-bred grey gelding was slow into stride and understandably raced green but he ran on well for 2nd over the five furlongs. That formline was lifted when the 3rd placed finisher Finn's Rebel won his next outing and this inmate from the Andre Nel yard should make natural progress. He gave every indication that today's extra furlong will be right up his alley.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: JUDDERING ANGEL(5)

Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

This staying contest is by no means straightforward despite the betting market suggesting otherwise. The likely strong gallop set by the lightweights could make things very difficult for the heavyweights who undoubtedly have the class. JUDDERING ANGEL is held by a few on his recent meeting behind BID ED (3.5kgs worse terms) over this c & d but the seasoned campaigner is certainly capable of better as his formline indicates. He has a solid c & d record and today's likely strong pace will suit the son of Judpot perfectly. Furthermore, he has a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and a top jockey aboard.
