Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET
Race 1: TIMEDTOPERFECTION(1)
Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Corne SPIES

Some useful form runners compete in this big opening maiden contest which should yield an exciting finish. TIMEDTOPERFECTION has had many chances but she is in good touch and ran on steadily for 2nd against male rivals over this c & d, two weeks ago. She will certainly prefer facing her own sex now and must be respected with Muzi Yeni taking the ride.

Race 2: LA MANGA(12)
Jockey: Diego DE GOUVEIA – Trainer: Duncan MCKENZIE

The lower drawn runners have enjoyed decent success over sprints on this track recently and that could be the way to go here. The former Gauteng resident LA MANGA had shown some quality form on the Highveld and the bay mare could enjoy a decent future in this province. The speedy daughter of Captain Al is favourably drawn on her local debut and she will benefit from a 2.5kgs apprentice allowance. She has won over this distance.

Race 3: LIMPOPO RIVER(1)
Jockey: Juan-Paul VAN DER MERVE – Trainer: Gavin SMITH

LIMPOPO RIVER
has continued her good run of form but she found seven furlongs too sharp for her when running on steadily to finish close-up on this track a fortnight ago. The daughter of Trippi failed to see out ten furlongs prior to that but produced her career best performances over this c & d. She could represent decent value in this contest.

Race 6: AL DON CUMARCO(1)

Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON – Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

There are some very speedy sorts in this minor feature and that could once again result in an exciting finish. AL DON CUMARCO lost his way in the summer but the break certainly helped the classy gelding as he had an eye-catching comeback run over this c & d in July. He may have felt the effects of those exertions as he disappointed subsequently but the son of Captain Al will be cherry-ripe today and he is best in at the weights on official ratings.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 5: ACAPULCO(5)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON – Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

This is a competitive low-key handicap which may be blessed with a solid gallop and that should yield a true result. The formline to follow could be the Cruzcampo run over this c & d at a much higher level on 08/07 and that pits ACAPULCO in a match-race with FREDERICK FOX. The above pairing has faced much stronger opposition for some time now and they were only separated by three parts of a length, in favour of the former in the event referred to above. The Yvette Bremner inmate has been thereabouts since and he wasn’t disgraced in pinnacle stakes company over this c & d, a fortnight ago. He now faces the latter on 1.5kgs better terms.
