Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

Big fields are the order of the day on this ten race programme which makes for exciting action. There are some smart, raced runners, in this opening event and ACCIDENTAL TOURIST is the pick of those. This inmate from the Duncan Howells yard posted two quality efforts over this c & d, the latest when going down a neck in a blanket finish to a feature, three weeks ago. She drops to maiden company here and merits huge respect with Delpech retaining the ride.

Race 2: CABINDA(8)

Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Michael ROBERTS

CABINDA clearly benefitted from the long break and he posted two quality sprints over this c & d. He was caught late recently but now has his peak showing and can certainly go one better for his in-form stable.

Race 3: AMAZON KING(7)

Jockey: Grant V.NIEKERK - Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

It could pay to follow the progress of Cabinda in the previous event as the top rating here, AMAZON KING finished a neck adrift of that rival over this c & d, three weeks ago. That was the Kahal gelding's second career effort and he should continue to progress. He should prove a tough nut to crack in this field.

Race 6: A WOMENS WAY(9)

Jockey: Grant V.NIEKERK - Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

The unbeaten three-year-old filly A WOMENS WAY had an excellent juvenile campaign which culminated with an impressive last-gasp feature win over this trip at Greyville, second time out. The well-related daughter of Var looks an exciting prospect who would have strengthened during her eight-week break. Her conditioner has thrust her into the deep-end on her seasonal and handicap debut but she has a low mass and can show her class. She won her debut on this track in her penultimate outing and can go close in her first start against older rivals. That said, she will receive some stiff competition from many hard-knocking, in-form, older sorts who naturally concede weight to her.

Race 4: BOLD REIGN(5)
Jockey: Sean VEALE - Trainer: Alistair GORDON

BOLD REIGN was unfancied and understandably green when producing a moderate debut over this c & d earlier this month but he did make some eye-catching late headway. The Bold Silvano colt would have come on with that experience and he should make natural improvement in today's contest. He jumps from a midfield draw and gets the services of an in-form jockey.
