Race 2: ENBHARR(4)
Jockey: Randall SIMONS – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

ENBHARR is consistent and he bounced right back to his best with a pleasing last effort over this trip on the classic course. The imported colt was beaten a head into 2nd that day and he will be cherry ripe now. He has the class to compete at today’s higher level and the likely sedate gallop won’t be an issue for trainer Mike de Kock’s charge.

Race 4: IMPERIAL OUNCE(4)
Jockey:  S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Sean TARRY

IMPERIAL OUNCE
finished well for 3rd on his promising sprint debut on the classic track and he should make natural improvement today. His pedigree indicates that he will enjoy the mile and the bay colt merits healthy respect. His debut experience around the turn will stand him in good stead.

TOP BET

Race 6: EXQUISITE TOUCH(6)
Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Sean TARRY

The three-year old EXQUISITE TOUCH was beaten for the first time in her short career when she went beyond five furlongs on the last day of April. However, that formline worked out extremely well with her conqueror Fursa just failing to land a subsequent Grade 1. The runner-up Myfunnyvalentine and 3rd placed finisher Arissa also did well in subsequent feature events. This highly talented daughter of Var would have strengthened during the 28 week absence and she can make a winning seasonal debut. She is undefeated from two c & d showings and her conditioner usually brings them back fit and well.

Race 7: LIEGE(4)

Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Sean TARRY

The talented Dynasty colt LIEGE was impressive when he kept going to beat BANKABLE TEDDY over ten furlongs on the classic track last month and the pair meet on similar weight terms. The Sean Tarry inmate is the ante-post favourite for the Grade 1 Summer Cup but there are still some stamina doubts. That said, he is extremely effective over today’s distance and should take a power of beating from pole position. On the flip side, the latter seems to prefer ten furlongs and beyond but has another handy galloping mass and should be competitive.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 8: ARPAD(6)
Jockey: Chase MAUJEAN – Trainer: Brian WIID

ARPAD
had a bad first experience in soft underfoot conditions recently but will be a totally different proposition if the ground is good today. He had consistent form prior to that and continues to gradually drop in the merit ratings. The four-year-old gelding won his only c & d outing and he can quickly get back to form here. He jumps from a handy draw.
