Race 3: BELENOS(1)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Alec LAIRD

BELENOS has struck up a fine partnership with 'Striker' and the pair should be extremely competitive in this wide open contest. The chestnut gelding was close-up in soft conditions recently and though the runner-up Enbharr didn't help the formline by finishing unplaced subsequently, this son of Judpot will prefer the switch to this shorter run-in. He is well drawn at gate 2.

Race 4: HAMAAN(9)
Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Sean TARRY

HAMAAN was unfancied when he ran on strongly to finish just out of the placings on debut in the Grass- hopper contest over seven furlongs, three weeks ago. It could pay to follow the progress of Military Award (runs in race 1) as that rival finished runner-up in the same event. This son of Silvano should relish the rise in distance and he will have plenty of improvement to come. His pole barrier position is a huge advantage on his track debut.

Race 6: DUZI MOON(4)

Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

There should be a strong gallop in this low-key affair and that will favour those runners drawn wide. DUZI MOON returned to form with a decent last display in soft conditions over this distance and he has a smart track record. He wasn't penalised for the improvement and must rate a definite threat in this field.

Race 9: ROSE WATER(2)
Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON - Trainer: Roy MAGNER

The ultra-consistent long-time maiden ROSE WATER performed creditably over a mile in her last three starts but she is undoubtedly best over this shorter trip. She goes well on this tight circuit and deserves her first career victory.

Race 2: MY CHERRY(9)
Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Sean TARRY

There are plenty of form runners in this competitive handicap and the value could lie with MY CHERRY, provided she is given a better ride this time around. She was clearly moved on too soon over ten furlongs at the Vaal recently and tired in the latter stages. This shorter run-in and the low mass are huge advantages for the daughter of Kahal who has a victory on this track to her credit. She should handle the rise in class and her yard is in great form.
