Race 1: QUINLAN(5)
Race 3: STORM RULER(10)

Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 1: QUINLAN(5)
Jockey: Craig ZACKEY - Trainer: Corne SPIES

Once again a small field of juveniles head to post for this five-furlong dash with just three of them having raced before. QUINLAN is one of the trio and he attracted strong market support when he tired late into 3rd on his debut over 800m, nine days ago. He has obviously shown his conditioner good work back home and should make natural improvement.

Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON - Trainer: Michael AZZIE

FLYING RUSSIAN has bright form and this slight drop in distance should suit him after he was collared late by a smart type over seven furlongs, two weeks ago. He finished a close 2nd in his only sprint effort to date and can turn his stable's dismal fortunes around.

Race 6: DOOSRA(1)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Johan JANSE VAN VUUREN

The classy colt DOOSRA may have just found the mile beyond him in a satisfactory showing in the Grade 2 Dingaans last time. Of course, the soft underfoot conditions didn't help his cause either but the well-related bay colt showed his class with impressive prior performances, including a feature victory over this c & d in his penultimate start. He is best in at the weights on official ratings in this graduation plate and should take a power of beating despite his wide draw. The son of Captain Al could be worth following during the Gauteng Autumn campaign.

Race 7: ARISSA(2)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Alec LAIRD

ARISSA is a smart type who still has improvement in her and she may have just needed her fair seasonal debut in late October. She has a distinct liking for this track on which she ran on steadily to finish 3rd in a Grade 2 event over this trip as a juvenile last April. The Alec Laird inmate is best in at the weights in this graduation event and she should give another good account of herself.

Jockey: Randall SIMONS - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

SHARP PRINCESS has proven costly to follow on many occasions but she continues to steadily drop in the merit ratings and the daughter of Dynasty can cause the upset in today's field. She is ideally c & d suited and the four-year-old filly wasn't disgraced in two comeback runs against male rivals. The Mike de Kock inmate will be cherry-ripe and she jumps from a good draw.
