Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: HERODUS(4)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

Just one raced entrant among this field of seven juveniles and the betting market should be closely monitored. The experience should prove key though and HERODUS caught the eye with his speed on his promising debut over this c & d, five weeks ago. That form was given a huge lift when his conqueror Bold Respect won subsequently on Met Day. The Antonius Pius colt would have come on appreciably from that outing and he should make natural improvement.

Race 3: POWER SHIFT(3)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

The Bobby Dazzler c & d formline on 14/01 is well-represented in this competitive maiden contest where POWER SHIFT could be the right one. The Bass-Robinson gelding has improved smartly in recent efforts and he only tired late in the above-mentioned event. He has the beating of the lightly raced entire', DAYONAUT (finished a further 1.75 lengths behind) and is the pick of the raced runners.

Race 4: PIRACY(9)
Jockey: Grant BEHR - Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

PIRACY drifted alarmingly in the betting market but still produced an eye-catching debut effort over seven furlongs in a very competitive line-up, five weeks ago. He, just like many of his rivals made up good ground on the pacesetter in the closing stages and finished just under three lengths adrift. The Oracy gelding will relish today's extra furlong & he should have plenty more to offer.

Race 5: AVIATRIX(8)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

This is another competitive maiden contest but over the nine furlongs where once more lack of pace is a concern. AVIATRIX has produced some smart form since returning from a year's absence and today's slightly shorter trip could make all the difference.

Race 8: SAINT JANINE(4)

Jockey: Donovan DILLON - Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

SAINT JANINE earned her high merit rating after she fetched subsequent winner Quippi with ease when shedding her maiden tag over this c & d just over one month ago. The lightly raced, well-related daughter of Trippi is progressive and she could be equal to today's huge task on her handicp debut. Her good draw is a major plus.
