Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Sean VEALE - Trainer: Paul GADSBY

The bay mare MISS VARLICIOUS has gone just over one year without a victory but she has still kept her form and is well placed to end that drought today. The daughter of Var loves this c & d and she is best weighted in this competitive Pinnacle Stakes.

Race 4: Q THE MUSIC(10)
Jockey: Gareth WRIGHT - Trainer: Willem A NEL

Q THE MUSIC found some outside betting support when he ran on well for a smart 2nd over this c & d on his debut, four weeks ago. Admittedly, that wasn't the strongest field but this son of Querari finish- ed nearly three lengths clear of the next placed entrant and he is entitled to have improved. He has definite claims and is his stable's solitary runner on the day.

Race 5: SHINE UP(5)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Doug CAMPBELL

The long-time maiden SHINE UP has found his best form again and blinkers could do the trick over this shorter trip. It is encouraging that top jockey Marcus keeps faith with the five-year-old chestnut who is well drawn at gate 3. Of course, the form of his penultimate run has worked out extremely well.

Race 7: ROY'S ROLL'S ROY(4)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Yogas GOVENDER

ROY'S ROLL'S ROYCE has smart recent polytrack form and he has no issues with the grass, particularly as he shed his maiden tag on this course. The imported gelding has everything in his favour, especial- ly now that he has finally drawn well and he should take a power of beating with Anton Marcus in the saddle. The chestnut gelding will surely sit up with the early speed and he is effective in soft underfoot conditions.

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Sean TARRY

There should be a strong pace in this topliner and the first selection RIKITIKITANA will love that. The smart Toreador gelding had an eye-catching last sprint over six furlongs in a minor feature. Of course, he was an impressive winner of a graded event over a mile three starts ago and top jockey Delpech should get the best out of him. He is the only entrant on this card and will definitely prefer likely soft underfoot conditions.
