Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: TOUCH WOOD(14)
Jockey: Sean VEALE – Trainer: Dennis DRIER

TOUCH WOOD was fancied when he made steady progress on his fair debut over five furlongs on the polytrack in late December. The well-related gelding should offer plenty more after that experience and that formline was boosted when the runner-up Brave Knight shed his maiden tag recently. The extra furlong should suit the Drier inmate on his grass debut.

Race 3: INYATI(1)
Jockey: Keagan DE MELO – Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

INYATI had some useful form prior to a possible setback which kept her out of action for 22 weeks. The daughter of Var still has plenty more to offer though and she could be a real force today.

Race 5: THE POET(7)
Jockey: Keagan DE MELO – Trainer: Mark DIXON

THE POET is in good form and despite his two quality recent performances over the mile, today’s trip suits the Brave Tin Soldier best. He has gate speed to overcome his wide draw and is well handicapped with the younger generation. He should take a power of beating.

TOP BET
Race 6: NIGHT TRIP(1)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Camdice BASS-ROBINSON

The classy NIGHT TRIP is once again best weighted at this pinnacle level but the extra furlong could make the significant difference, particularly in a contest that may be run at a decent tempo. The veteran gelding should take a power of beating on his track debut.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 4: BANK THE CASH(3)

Jockey: Ian STRUGEON – Trainer: Frank ROBINSON

This is an extremely moderate low-key staying handicap but there could still be a betting proposition in the form of BANK THE CASH from the Frank Robinson yard. The Bankable gelding has been below-par in soft conditions in his last two attempts but had decent form prior to that. He made steady progress to finish just out of the money behind the high quality stayer Banner Hilly over this c & d on his handicap debut and continues to plummet in the merit ratings. He will strip fitter now and his only career win was an impressive one over this c & d four runs back.
