Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: SANCTUARY(2)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

SANCTUARY is in great form & she is only slightly out at the weights with CRACKPOT in this conditions plate. The inmate from the Greeff yard completed a hat-trick with her final victory coming in late January. She was gaining late when runner-up under a big mass at handicap level over ten furlongs next time out. The bay filly is undoubtedly better on today's surface and she has huge claims at the weights.

Race 3: KING OF CHAOS(1)
Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON - Trainer: Dorrie SHAM

The smart KING OF CHAOS bounced back to form with an eye-catching finish over a mile on this surface earlier this month. The four-year-old placed in the Derby last campaign so today's rise in trip won't be an issue and he is weighted to take all the beating. The likely sedate gallop is the only worry for the son of A P Arrow

Jockey: Craig ZACKEY - Trainer: Corne SPIES

BOLLEMAKIESIE has turned his formline around completely since the start of this year and he was pipped in both his polytrack efforts recently. The versatile gelding picked up another penalty for good last run but is still weighted to be competitive with his recent conqueror JUST LIKE MAGIC(0.5kg worse off) The three-year-old gelding has a smart turn of foot and a good draw so today's likely sedate gallop won't harm his chances.

Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

JUAN TWO THREE has the best credentials in the day's non-black type topliner and the Var gelding can give the stable yet another feature race victory. The four-year-old jumps from a good draw and his visiting jockey has won aboard him previously. The bay gelding is unbeaten from two c & d efforts.

Race 8: LA MANGA(15)

Jockey: Luyolo MXOTHWA - Trainer: Duncan MCKENZIE

This is an extremely wide open fillies and mares handicap where some decent value could be had about the top selection LA MANGA who jumps from pole position on her return to the polytrack. The bay mare has disappointed on the grass recently, hence her plummeting merit rating, but she had two solid performances on this surface before that. In fact, she only weakened late to finish just under three lengths behind dual subsequent winner DANCE IN THE WOODS that day and she is now a whopping 11kgs better off with her conqueror. The daughter of Captain Al continues to plummet in the ratings and this slightly shorter trip will play into her hands.
