Race 2: FRESNAYE(2)
Jockey: Donovanb DILLON – Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

FRESNAYE was fancied when she made a high quality debut over six furlongs behind older rivals eleven days ago. The Ramsden inmate was unfortunately slow into stride but she ran on eye-catchingly for a close 3rd behind two form older sorts. The experience would have brought her on appreciably and this extra furlong will be right up her alley. The slight worry is that she needs to jump on terms to take full advantage of her pole barrier position in her first venture around the bend. It is an added bonus that she faces her own age group now.

TOP BET
Race 3: TRIPPLE EXPLOSION(1)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Glen KOTZEN
TRIPPLE EXPLOSION benefitted from the gelding and he made huge improvement over this c & d recently. He ran on strongly for 3rd despite taking a bump at the start and will be fitter now. The exposed Trippi gelding clearly has more to offer and he should go well from the best draw.

Race 6: WHOSE THAT GIRL(2)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

The stable elect from the Bass-Robinson yard, WHOSE THAT GIRL has been well placed and she has plenty going for her in this event. She drops in class after fair performances in much stronger feature events and the latest formline was boosted when the 3rd placed entrant Gimme Six beat a quality field on her KZN debut subsequently. She has a midfield barrier and also holds a few rivals safe on the Ektifaa c & d run on 29/10.

Race 8: STREAK OF SILVER(3)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON – Trainer: Eric SANDS

STREAK OF SILVER is still in great form and deserves his overdue third career victory. The four-year old bay gelding was caught late by the ultra-consistent Gyre over a mile recently but may have escaped without a penalty and more importantly is even better over this shorter trip. The son of Silvano is well handicapped with the younger brigade and he should give a great account of himself.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 5: SOUTH SIDE(3)

Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

This is a most intriguing conditions event where all but one of the six entrants have gone without victory for a year and more. The weights count against the three-year-old SOUTH SIDE but she is still improving and could return to winning ways. The smart daughter of Pathfork has won 3 from 7, including back-to-back easy wins before her disappointing last run. She had legitimate excuses for that latest showing and the 15-week break would have served her well.
