Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: KIMBERLEY STAR(6)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

The Cheyne/Greeff combination could be at it again and KIMBERLEY STAR should build on his fair debut behind the speedy Dickensian (runner-up next time out) over five furlongs on this track on the last day of March. The well-related son of Ideal World was running on late after jumping slowly and should enjoy today's extra furlong.

KIMBERLEY STAR(6)

Race 3: QUINELIA(6)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

This is an extremely competitive maiden sprint for fillies but once again the Greeff/Cheyne partnership could come to the fore. QUINELIA is holding form and she sharpened up when equipped with blinkers on the polytrack last time out. She is full value on the turf as well and made eye-catching progress for 3rd over five furlongs on this course against male rivals on 16/12. The daughter of Querari should give a very good account of herself.

Race 4: PHOENIX RISING(1)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

PHOENIX RISING had an eye-catching local sprint debut a fortnight ago and the former Cape inmate will relish today's rise in distance. He will strip fitter and should go very close from a good draw, with the stable jockey now taking the reins.

Race 5: BOLLEMAKIESIE(2)
Jockey:
Craig
ZACKEY
 - Trainer: Corne SPIES

Just eight entrants head to post for this highly competitive low-key handicap where a lack of pace could be a serious issue. BOLLEMAKIESIE has found his form again after a pair of weak efforts and he could be the right one if taken to the head of affairs. The well-tried three-year-old bay gelding has proven to be effective with frontrunning tactics and this trip is no issue. Furthermore, he is drawn best of all.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:
Race 7: KIR ROYALE(1)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON - Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

The joint top weight is the three-year-old KIR ROYALE who is much better than his recent efforts indicate. He wasn't disgraced on his handicap debut over this c & d behind Trees Of Green on 24/03 and could feature prominently with a repeat of that performance. The son of Sail From Seattle is drawn best of all.
