Race 2: SCOOTALOO(4)
Race 6: MS HOLLY GOLIGHTLY(9)
Race 10: DR FINLEY(13)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: TALK WRENCH(3)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Phillip SMITH

TALK WRENCH flopped badly against winners on the Highveld recently but has shown promise in his hometown and is a huge contender today. He should be comfortable with this extra furlong but the concern is that he gets equipped with blinkers for the first time.

Race 2: SCOOTALOO(4)
Jockey: Collen STOREY - Trainer: Cliffie MILLER

SCOOTALOO has shown promise in her two runs to date and she made decent improvement when staying on for 3rd against male rivals over this track & trip in late March. She would have strengthened during the seven-week absence and should give a really good account of herself.

Race 7: RED SPECIAL(1)
Jockey: Wayne AGRELLA - Trainer: Stephanie MILLER

RED SPECIAL is in great form and he produced a quality effort when runner-up behind FIRST SEA LORD over seven furlongs recently. Of course, he jumped from the worst draw in a big race and raced wide before running on for 2nd at the death. He is only 1.5kgs better off with his conqueror and has another awkward barrier to negotiate but the extra furlong should make a significant difference. The son of Kahal can certainly overturn the 2.50 lengths deficit.

TOP BET
Race 9: FAVOUR'S PRIDE(2)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Corne SPIES

FAVOUR'S PRIDE brings excellent Gauteng form into this event and she should be extremely difficult to beat if handling this surface on her local debut. She drops heavily in class and has all the gate speed to overcome her wide draw. Her jockey is a master of overcoming poor barriers in the province.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:
Race 8: DOWNTOWN DANZA(10
Jockey: Sherman BROWN - Trainer: Stephanie MILLER

The ultra-consistent DOWNTOWN DANZA earned his 15-week break after a tough few months and he has plenty going for him today. His only career victory came over this c & d and he jumps from a smart draw with his regular pilot in the saddle.
