Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Donovan DILLON - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

The Leaves Of Grass c & d formline on 04/04 is well-represented in this maiden contest and COLORADO ROSE deserves her first career victory. She finished runner-up in four of her last five starts, including the event referred to above. The daughter of Sail From Seattle was running on well on that occasion and won't mind a likely sedate gallop.

Race 4: CAPE LADDIE(1)
Jockey: Grant VAN NIEKERK - Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

CAPE LADDIE is plagued with issues but there is no doubting his ability and he has produced two high quality comeback runs after yet another layoff. He quickened smartly before being outrun late when trying ten furlongs recently and the mile will suit him perfectly today. The bay colt was upped three pounds for that last effort but still has more to offer and he should take some beating on his peak outing.

Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Darryl HODGSON

CARDINAL CALL is in great form and his powerful late burst enabled him to nab CORTADA on the line over this c & d three weeks ago. He was raised three pounds but the consistent son of Jay Peg meets the runner-up on similar terms and he can certainly follow-up.

Jockey: Grant VAN NIEKERK - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

SPEEDPOINT is improving quickly and he should have gone closer to DUTCH PHILIP (2kgs worse off) over five furlongs three weeks ago. The well-bred son of Var ran on strongly in that highly competitive affair and he should relish today's extra furlong. It is worth noting that his conditioner retains the expert services of Van Niekerk.

Race 2: LOVE TO FLY(5)
Jockey: Piet BOTHA - Trainer: Glen PULLER

LOVE TO FLY showed blistering speed before he weakened late over this c & d against winners recently but that experience would have brought him on appreciably. The bay gelding drops heavily in class and he could have a decent say.
