Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: SAMSARA(1)
Jockey: Anthony ANDREWS - Trainer: Greg ENNION

SAMSARA is a promising type who was outrun late into 2nd over an extra furlong five weeks ago and she has strong claims in today's line-up. She should enjoy this minimum distance and the daughter of Rock Of Rochelle can go one better.

Race 3: MERYSAGOS(9)
Jockey: Grant VAN NIEKERK - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

This should be a really exciting three-way tussle as arguably the province's top jockeys have the form entrants. The well-bred MERYSAGOS is improving quickly and she went close over this c & d despite jumping slowly in her first venture around the turn in late April. The Snaith inmate had SEATTLE SOUND a length further adrift and would have strengthened during the seven-week absence. She is well drawn at gate 4 and top pilot Van Niekerk rides her for the first time.

The ultra-consistent SABINA'S DYNASTY may have just needed her comeback run after an eleven-week break and she will strip much fitter today. The costly to follow daughter of Dynasty will relish the likely blistering pace and could prove tough to beat from the best draw.

Race 6: SOUTH SIDE(2)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

The smart three-year-old filly SOUTH SIDE faces her stiffest test to date with a big mass against some quality male rivals but the improving daughter of Pathfork could prove equal to the task at hand. She was an impressive winner of her comeback run over this c & d and is probably still ahead of the handicapper despite the resultant three-pound penalty. She will strip fitter today.

Race 1: MOON ROCK(13)
Jockey: Karl ZECHNER - Trainer: Paul REEVES

The handful of raced entrant entrants have decent form in this big field and should make their experience count. It could pay to follow The Border War formline and MOON ROCK showed good improvement when he only tired late in that c & d event last month. The bay colt was under half a length adrift of the short-priced favourite APOLLO STAR and could have a big say on his peak showing.
