TRAINER Comments:
Trainer Joey Ramsden: “I was very happy with his last run. He ran a good race without hammering him. He’s in good order.”

“The Conglomerate is just as well as he was when he won last year but the three-year-olds have to have a massive chance. For the first time in years they have handicapped a three-year-old to win and Edict Of Nantes will have to really fluff his lines not to.”

“I have got him as well as I had him last year and he is working and looking very well. I am very pleased with him.”

MAGIC TIPS (Winning Form) Comment:
Defending champion who’s had a soft prep after a disappointing Cape summer. Has gone exactly one year without a win since his biggest claim to fame and rather interestingly, shoulders just 0.5 kg more this time around. He has a promising young rider who has captured a few Grade 1’s this year in the saddle but this is a much tougher event and the pair will have their work cut out for them. Still, the Australian import should be up with the early pace & will have followers.

Verdict: Defending champion, decent prep, well-handicapped.
