Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET
Race 2: KINGSTON WARREN(3)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON - Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

The three-year old KINGSTON WARREN was slightly disappointing on his handicap debut when trying this surface recently but that was in a very strong field and he did race wide. The promising son of Great Britain would have benefitted from that first experience around the turn and he should show his true worth in this lesser contest.

Race 4: EQUESTRIS(3)
Jockey: Luyolo MXOTHWA - Trainer: Grant PADDOCK

EQUESTRIS never raised a gallop when she surprisingly found herself in a workrider's event recently but her conditioner has given her the necessary time to recover and the usually consistent bay mare can bounce back to best today. She has all the right credentials to claim a well deserved maiden win on her favourite surface and the daughter of Lateral should enjoy being equipped with blinkers. The form of her penultimate start was boosted when the runner-up Tamashi shed her maiden tag next time out.

Race 5: CAPTAIN MARMALADE (2)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

CAPTAIN MARMALADE is consistent and he didn't disgrace himself in his comeback run from a lengthy rest recently. The Captain Al gelding tired late to finish just over two lengths adrift on his handicap debut that day and now meets the runner-up OVER DRIVE on 4kgs better terms for the 0.95 length deficit. The Greeff inmate will strip fitter and he should give a very good account of himself.

Race 7: JEREMY(4)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON - Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

The in-form JEREMY has all the credentials to take a power of beating in today's line-up but the only reservation is that the five-year old gelding has gone more than one year without a victory. He was rightly hiked four pounds for his excellent last feature performance over a marathon distance but is undoubtedly the one to beat.

Race 6: TEAM GUYS(1)
Jockey: Craig ZACKEY - Trainer: Jacques STRYDOM

The top weight TEAM GUYS has had two eye-catching local starts since relocating from KZN and he will be cherry-ripe today. The polytrack specialist has recorded all four of his career wins over this trip and he gets the services of an in-form jockey. The pair jump from the best draw.
