Magic Tips Comments
There are quite a few natural frontrunners present in Gauteng’s premier contest which should lead to a true result and the Geoff Woodruff stable is once again well-represented in their bid to rewrite the history books. The stable’s representative PAGODA has had a quiet but effective preparation and he will strip much fitter after easing into his seasonal debut behind fellow contenders GIRL ON THE RUN and CROWD PLEASER on the tight inside circuit last month. The top quality son of Mogok showed his class with some brilliant performances last campaigning, including a smart 2nd in the Derby behind July runner-up Al Sahem in early May. He clearly prefers this galloping track and should be extremely competitive with his low mass.
His stablemate MASTER SWITCH will be retained by Strydom after an eye-catching recent nine furlong effort behind GIRL ON THE RUN (2.5kgs worse off) and CORAL FEVER (1kg worse off). The six-year old Jet Master gelding finished a creditable 3rd behind his former stablemate MASTER SABINA (attempting to win this race for three consecutive years) in this event twelve months
