Tuesday 18 August

Chippa United 24/10
Draw 18/10
Highlands Park 27/20
Coach Lehlohonolo Seema lost his first match in charge of Chippa United when they succumbed 1-0 to Cape Town City. This is a must-win encounter for the coach to avoid the trigger-happy chairman’s axe.

Highlands Park gave title-chasing Sundowns a run for their money as the Brazilians had to come back from a goal down to salvage a 1-1 draw against the Lions of the North. I’ll back Chippa as they’re desperate to survive relegation.

Bidvest Wits 17/20
Draw 2/1
Golden Arrows 36/10
Bidvest Wits had a tough run of fixtures after the lockdown, managing to hold both Sundowns and top-placed Chiefs to stalemates. This is a match in which they will fancy their chances against a so-called lesser team.

Abafana Bes’thende shockingly lost to Stellenbosch in their first match after lockdown. My money is on Wits to amass maximum points.

Orlando Pirates 11/20
Draw 26/10
Baroka 11/2
Pirates haven’t scored in the last four league games and they have now lifted the suspension on Thembisnkosi Lorch who has been their creative source over the last two seasons. They come up against a Baroka side who are one point above the relegation zone. The hosts have been poor in recent weeks while the visitors have been indifferent the whole season. This has draw written all over it.

SuperSport United 13/20
Draw 5/2
Polokwane City 9/2
Both teams have played one game since the return of competitive football. SuperSport were held to a 1-all draw while Polokwane relinquished a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Kaizer Chiefs. The teams lack sharpness in front of goal and creating chances in open play won’t be easy. I will lean towards SuperSport to edge it.

Bloemfontein Celtic 32/10
Draw 47/20
Kaizer Chiefs 17/20
Celtic held SuperSport United to a 1-1 draw in their first PSL match and before that they advanced to the Nedbank Cup final courtesy of a 3-0 win over Baroka. On the other hand, the log leaders made a dramatic comeback from 2-0 down against Polokwane City to record and 3-2 victory. I can confidently back Amakhosi here.

Treble @ 5/1
Bidvest Wits 17/20
SuperSport United 13/20
Kaizer Chiefs 17/20
